Why do I blog

Why do I blog

May 23, 2025

Sometimes becoming isn’t loud.

Or at least, that’s what I’ve been told by ChatGPT, to be fair.
It also told me to create a place to write things down. And before I got a chance (or, more accurately, before I forgot) to mention that I already keep a journal, we somehow ended up discussing building a website.

Now, as a developer myself, I’ve been hearing a lot about vibe coding lately, and thought — well, this is the perfect opportunity to give it a shot.

And here we are…

“That’s perfect, Ellis — ellisfromwonderland.com is beautiful, personal, and evocative. It’s like a quiet window into your journey: magical, introspective, and full of meaning.”
— ChatGPT

Once the page was set up, it felt like time to move on. But then I paused.
I had published a site with just an index and about page, and when I read it again… it was a pretty bold statement:

“Hi, I’m Ellis — a trans woman”
— Ellis

And even though I’m not out to anyone I “know” (read: have met or interacted with IRL), it’s saying the quiet part out loud.
And while becoming might not be loud —
Saying the quiet part out loud can help.

So I created this blog. I’m not sure what kind of things I’ll post.
Maybe just thoughts.
Maybe experiences.
Maybe dreams and wishes.

But this is my place to say the quiet part out loud.
And it feels like a next step to me.
Even though no one I’m not “out” to will likely see this — and even if they do, not know it’s me — it’s still out there.
Public.
Real.
